Kohat police tighten net on undocumented Afghan nationals in targeted sweep

KOHAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Apr, 2026) In a decisive move aligned with national policy, Kohat Police have intensified operations against undocumented Afghan nationals, detaining multiple individuals found residing in the district without valid legal papers.

In this regard on Saturday, officials at the City Police Station confirmed that the crackdown was executed under clear government directives concerning foreign residents. Station House Officer (SHO) Abdul Rauf Bangash stated that specialized police teams conducted thorough checks of identity documents, ensuring that only those lacking proper authorization were taken into custody.

Reaffirming the force’s commitment to lawful conduct, the SHO underscored that the operation was carried out with strict adherence to legal protocols and respect for human dignity.

“Our actions are guided by responsibility and the rule of law. No individual has been mistreated, and all arrests followed due verification of documents, with formal cases registered against violators,” he maintained.

He further urged Afghan nationals living in Kohat to regularize their status in accordance with the Government of Pakistan’s policies. Emphasizing a balanced approach, he noted that the police remain steadfast in preserving law and order while ensuring that enforcement measures are conducted with professionalism and courtesy.
