Kohat Police solve blind murder, arrest suspects in separate operations

KOHAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Jun, 2026) Kohat police successfully solved a blind murder case, arresting the prime suspect along with the weapon used in the crime.

On June 16, unidentified assailants shot dead Kashif in the Muhammad Zai Khurha Garhi area. His brother, Dilbar, lodged a report at Cantonment Police Station. Taking immediate notice, District Police Officer Kohat, Shahbaz Elahi, directed swift action.

The police team, employed modern investigative techniques, ground intelligence, and human resources to trace the culprit. The police arrested Kashif son of Qamar Gul and recovered the pistol used in the murder. Further investigation is underway.

In another incident, Kohat police arrested a man for aerial firing during a wedding celebration in College Town. The accused, Haroon, was apprehended on the spot. The weapon was seized, and a case was registered for further proceedings.

Separately, Bannu Gate Check Post police arrested a suspect carrying a Kalashnikov and 30 cartridges. The accused, Alam Gul, was booked under relevant sections of law.

District Police Officer Shahbaz Elahi reiterated that aerial firing and possession of illegal arms are dangerous crimes, warning that strict legal action will be taken against violators.
