Kohat Division intensifies monitoring of Ramazan relief package, market prices

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Feb, 2026) District administrations across Kohat Division have stepped up efforts to ensure timely disbursement of the Ramazan relief package, provision of affordable food items, and strict enforcement against price violations during the holy month.

In Kohat, a meeting regarding the Ramazan relief package was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nawaz Wazir wherein he directed timely distribution of Ramazan assistance to deserving families, emphasizing transparency, accuracy in beneficiary lists, and strict monitoring of the distribution process.

He reiterated that prompt resolution of public issues remains a top government priority and assured that all necessary arrangements are being made to facilitate fasting citizens.

He said that market monitoring desks have been established across major markets, with officials conducting daily inspections to ensure price control, quality standards, hygiene, and availability of essential commodities.

Meanwhile, in Parachinar, Deputy Commissioner Ashfaq Khan inspected the Ramazan Sasta Bazaar, reviewing prices, quality, and availability of food items.

Accompanied by senior officers, he directed shopkeepers to prominently display official price lists and issued on-the-spot warnings to violators.

He also directed regular inspections of bakeries, butcher shops, and general stores to prevent hoarding, overcharging, and compromise on quality.

In Hangu, under the supervision of Additional Deputy Commissioner Naseer Khan, a Ramazan 2026 committee has been formed to ensure transparent distribution of relief assistance and free Iftar services.

Community-supported dining tables have been set up in Hangu Patak and Tehsil Thall to serve daily Iftar to travelers, fasting individuals, and needy citizens.

Assistant Commissioner Syed Ehsan Ali Shah and Additional Assistant Commissioner Thall Shah Bakht Yousafzai supervised the arrangements and joined residents for Iftar, terming the initiative a symbol of community service and solidarity.

District administrations across the division have reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring public convenience, transparency, and welfare throughout Ramazan.

Authorities have warned that strict action will be taken against illegal profiteering, underweight practices, and price manipulation to maximize relief for the public.
