Kohat administration cracks down on illegal encroachments, strengthens price control

KOHAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Mar, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Kohat on Tuesday directed a comprehensive crackdown against illegal encroachments across the district, while the operation was closely supervised by Assistant Commissioner Nida Iqbal. Unauthorized structures were removed from multiple locations, and several shopkeepers were formally warned to comply with the law, thus reinforcing regulatory discipline in the district.

Simultaneously, price-control teams conducted inspections in local markets to ensure that meat and other essential commodities were sold strictly according to official rate lists. Butchers were instructed to prominently display government-issued price lists and strictly follow notified prices, because overcharging or hiding rates would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Officials emphasized that both anti-encroachment drives and price-control inspections will continue daily, so that citizens benefit from a clean environment and uninterrupted access to essential items at government-approved rates. The administration reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining order and public convenience across Kohat’s marketplaces.

Authorities warned that persistent violators of market regulations and encroachment laws would face decisive action, therefore sending a strong message that local governance and consumer protection remain a top priority in the district.
