KhUJ condemns FIR against journalist in Miranshah, urges govt to take notice

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Mar, 2026) The Khyber Union of Journalists (KhUJ) on Wednesday strongly condemned the registration of an FIR against senior journalist and former Miranshah Press Club president Noor Bahram by the administration of District Headquarters Hospital Miranshah.

In a statement issued here, KhUJ President Kashifuddin Syed and General Secretary Irshad Ali said the journalist had highlighted the absence of a lady doctor at the women’s hospital in Miranshah after receiving public complaints, which was a matter of serious concern for local patients.

They termed the FIR, reportedly lodged on the complaint of a lady doctor and the hospital administration, as retaliatory action and demanded its immediate withdrawal.

The union also urged the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and police authorities to take notice of the matter and order a transparent inquiry.

KhUJ warned that if the case was not withdrawn, journalist organizations across the province would launch protests.
