Kamran Rehman Khan chairs meeting to review preparations for Youm-e-Istehsal

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Jul, 2026) Federal Secretary for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Kamran Rehman Khan, on Tuesday chaired a high-level meeting to review preparations for the observance of Youm-e-Istehsal on August 5, emphasizing a coordinated and impactful nationwide commemoration.

The representatives of federal ministries, provincial governments, including Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu & Kashmir Governments and various departments briefed the meeting regarding preparations for “Youm-e-Istehsal”,

The participants also discussed the overall strategy to ensure effective coordination and seamless implementation of the proposed events.

Chairing the meeting, Kamran Rehman Khan said this year's observance of Youm-e-Istehsal would be marked in a more effective and impactful manner.

He stressed the importance of close coordination among all concerned ministries and departments to ensure a unified national approach and the successful execution of all planned activities.

The meeting reviewed the overall plan and reiterated the government's commitment to highlighting the significance of August 5 through coordinated national and international outreach initiatives.

Youm-e-Istehsal is observed annually on August 5 to mark the anniversary of India's 2019 decision to revoke the special constitutional status of Jammu and Kashmir under Articles 370 and 35A. The day is commemorated through seminars, rallies, media campaigns, and diplomatic outreach to express solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir and to draw international attention to the Kashmir issue.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Communications, Ministry of education and Information Technology and Telecom, ptv, APP, PBC, PEMRA, CDA, PTA, National Heritage and Culture, PNCA, Lok Virsa, Commissioner’s Office Islamabad, Commissioner’s Office Rawalpindi, Islamabad Police and others.
