KARACHI: K-Electric has launched a new cashless payment service that allows customers to pay electricity bills instantly using debit or credit cards at selected customer care centers.

The initiative aims to make bill payments faster, safer and more convenient while encouraging the use of digital banking services across Pakistan.

The new payment system lets customers tap their debit or credit cards on Point of Sale (POS) machines installed at designated K-Electric customer care centers. The company said the service is designed to reduce waiting times, improve convenience and support the country’s growing shift toward digital payments.

With the new facility, customers no longer need to carry cash or stand in long lines at banks and payment centers. Instead, they can complete their electricity bill payments within minutes through a simple card transaction.

K-Electric said the service accepts a wide range of local and international payment cards including PayPak, Mastercard, Visa and UnionPay. The company believes this broad compatibility will allow more consumers to benefit from the new payment option.

According to the utility provider, the POS based payment system offers a secure and transparent way to pay bills while helping customers become more familiar with modern banking services. The company added that digital payments also reduce the risks linked to handling cash and provide a smoother payment experience.

K-Electric said the latest initiative is part of its ongoing efforts to improve customer service through technology. The company plans to continue expanding its digital services so customers can access faster, safer and more efficient payment options in the future.

The launch comes as digital financial services continue to grow across Pakistan. More consumers are using debit and credit cards, mobile banking apps and other electronic payment methods for everyday transactions.

Industry experts believe digital payment systems can reduce pressure on banks and traditional payment centers while making financial transactions more efficient.

For customers who already rely on bank cards for shopping and daily expenses, the new K-Electric payment option provides another convenient way to manage monthly utility bills without visiting multiple payment locations.

By introducing card based bill payments at customer care centers, K-Electric hopes to improve the overall customer experience while supporting Pakistan’s broader transition toward secure and modern digital payment solutions.
