JUI holds protest  in Lakki Marwat over killing of party workers

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jun, 2026) Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) on Friday staged a protest demonstration in Lakki Marwat against the killing of two of its local leaders, former UC Nazim Haji Gul Zareen and Matiullah.

The protest was held at Tajazai Adda on the Main Highway, where a large number of JUI workers, supporters and local residents gathered to condemn the killings and demand the arrest of those responsible.

The demonstration was led by Maulana Asjad Mahmood, son of JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and the party’s candidate for the National Assembly from Lakki Marwat.

Addressing the participants, JUI leaders strongly condemned the incident and called on the authorities to ensure a transparent investigation and bring the perpetrators to justice at the earliest.

The protesters expressed grief over the loss of the party workers and paid tribute to their services for the party and the community.

Meanwhile, the funeral prayers for the deceased leaders were offered on the Main Highway, attended by a large number of party workers, religious scholars and local residents.

The participants prayed for the departed souls and expressed solidarity with the bereaved families.
