Joint strategy being mulled to protect forests in Dera range

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Mar, 2026) Rescue 1122 and the forest department are making efforts to adopt a joint strategy for ensuring protection of forests in the area.

In this regard, District Emergency Officer Muhammad Arif Khan held a meeting with the Divisional Forest Officer(DFO) of Dera Ismail Khan range and discussed matters pertaining to protection of forests through mutual cooperation by effectively responding to possible forest fire incidents in a timely manner.

According to Rescue 1122

both sides also agreed to adopt a joint strategy to deal with any emergency situation.

District Emergency Officer Muhammad Arif Khan emphasized that effective coordination between Rescue 1122 and the forest department would not only help protect forests but also ensure a prompt and organized response during natural disasters and emergency situations.

The DFO has also informed the Commissioner of Dera Ismail Khan Division about this development. It was decided that an important meeting will be held after Eid under the chairmanship of the Commissioner of Dera Ismail Khan Division.

Officials from the district administration, Rescue 1122, the forest department, and TMA Dera Ismail Khan will participate in the meeting, where a joint strategy will be finalized for the prevention of forest fires, disaster management, and improved coordination among different departments.
