Joint efforts imperative to resolve women’s rights, child protection issues: Home Minister

KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Jul, 2026) Sindh Minister for Home and Law, Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar has termed effective collaboration among the government, judiciary, civil society, and relevant institutions imperative to resolve issues like women’s rights, child protection, inheritance deprivation, guardianship, and legal aid, saying, these issues cannot be resolved through government efforts alone.

The Home Minister expressed these views while addressing a ceremony on human rights and the Legal Aid Society, said a statement on Friday.

He stated that although public awareness regarding women’s inheritance rights and children’s fundamental rights has increased, these challenges require collective efforts to overcome. He paid tribute to the professionals and organizations working in this sector, describing them as role models for society.

Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar stressed the need for joint planning and close coordination with relevant institutions, said the government’s objective is not merely to hold meetings but to implement practical measures that deliver tangible benefits directly to the people.

He emphasized that human rights, women’s protection, and legal aid are matters of national importance, and that all relevant institutions must work together under a coordinated strategy to ensure meaningful relief and justice for the public.

During the event, he reviewed the Sindh Legal Advisory Call Centre established under the Legal Aid Society and appreciated its performance.

He directed that public awareness of the call centre be enhanced, that it be relocated to a more suitable and spacious facility, and that the necessary funding be provided to expand its capacity so that a greater number of citizens can benefit from its services.

In conclusion, Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar commended the efforts of the relevant institutions and event organizers.
