MIRPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd May, 2026) Acting Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front, Raja Muzaffar, has criticized the rejoinder filed by India’s National Investigation Agency against Yasin Malik, calling it “misleading” and a “mala fide attempt” to influence judicial proceedings.
In a statement released to media on Saturday, Muzaffar said Malik had long renounced armed struggle and adopted a non-violent political path inspired by Mahatma Gandhi. He added that Malik had consistently pursued dialogue and diplomacy, engaging with international stakeholders to advocate a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute.
Muzaffar highlighted that Malik had undertaken visits to countries including the United States, United Kingdom, and Pakistan, and held meetings with top leadership in both India and Pakistan, as well as senior U.
S. officials. He said such diplomatic engagements reflected Malik’s stature as a political figure on the global stage.
Questioning the agency’s position, Muzaffar termed the case politically motivated, arguing that branding Malik a “terrorist” contradicts his involvement in diplomatic initiatives. He urged the Government of India to acquit Malik and initiate meaningful political dialogue to address the longstanding Kashmir issue.
