MIRPUR (AJK) , (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point news - 20th May, 2026) The Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) on Wednesday expressed serious concerns over “biased and undemocratic” proceedings by a TADA court in Jammu in cases involving jailed JKLF Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik and several of his associates.
In a statement issued by the party’s central information office, JKLF Spokesman, Muhammad Rafiq Dar said the cases relate to the Rubaiya Sayeed kidnapping and Indian Air Force personnel killings, in which several JKLF members had been named as co-accused.
According to the statement, senior Kashmir-based lawyer Muhammad Abdullah Pandit, representing Malik during a recent court hearing, requested the court to reproduce witnesses whose statements had not been cross-examined.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The lawyer reportedly argued that accepting altered witness statements without cross-examination would be unlawful and amount to a “murder of justice.”
He urged the court to summon the witnesses again to allow proper cross-examination before any conclusions were reached.
The statement further said the defense maintained that the cases were politically motivated and described the proceedings as an attempt at political victimization of Malik, whom the party called a prominent pro-freedom political leader from Jammu and Kashmir.
