ITP warns against lane, wrong-way driving in Islamabad crackdown

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2026) Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has warned citizens against lane violations, wrong-way driving and reckless behavior on roads, announcing a strict crackdown against traffic rule violators in the Federal capital.

An ITP official told APP on Tuesday that Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad Muhammad Sarfraz Virk issued a special public message urging motorists to strictly follow traffic laws to ensure safe and disciplined road usage.

The CTO Virk said wrong-way driving, careless driving and lane violations not only endangered the lives of violators but also posed serious risks to other road users.

Islamabad Traffic Police was going to launch a vigorous crackdown against such traffic violations to improve road safety and traffic discipline in the city.

Virk urged citizens to cooperate with Islamabad Traffic Police and demonstrate responsible citizenship by adhering to traffic rules and regulations.

He emphasized that observance of traffic laws was essential for preventing accidents and maintaining smooth traffic flow across the federal capital.
