ITP issues traffic diversion plan for football match screening at express chowk

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Jul, 2026) Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) issued a special traffic diversion and parking plan for a public football match screening at Express Chowk, advising commuters to follow the traffic arrangements to avoid inconvenience.

An ITP official told APP on Sunday that a giant screen had been installed at Express Chowk for football enthusiasts, requiring special traffic management measures to ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety.

Under the parking plan, motorists have been advised to park their vehicles along the Blue Area Service Road between China Chowk and Express Chowk, as well as on the Nazimuddin Service Road between China Chowk and Express Chowk.

The official said that, under the diversion plan, the road from China Chowk towards Express Chowk would remain closed to traffic, while Express Chowk would be closed to vehicular traffic from all four directions during the event.

Commuters have been advised to use 9th Avenue as the Primary alternate route, while Nazimuddin Road and Fazl-e-Haq Road may also be used to reach their destinations.

The official urged citizens to cooperate with traffic police personnel and follow the diversion plan to facilitate smooth traffic management during the event.

He added that further traffic updates and travel advisories would be shared through ITP FM Radio 92.4 and the official social media platforms of Islamabad Traffic Police to keep the public informed.
