ITP deploys 350 officers for smooth traffic flow around Eid cattle markets

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th May, 2026) Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has finalized a special traffic management plan for cattle markets across the Federal capital to ensure smooth traffic flow and facilitate citizens during Eid-ul-Azha.

An ITP official told APP on Sunday that special traffic arrangements had been made around cattle markets to maintain uninterrupted traffic flow and avoid congestion during Eid shopping activities.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad Muhammad Sarfraz Virk said more than 350 officers and personnel would perform duties under the special Eid traffic plan.

He said additional traffic officials had been deployed to guide commuters and ensure the smooth movement of vehicles around cattle markets established in different areas of the city.

The CTO Virk urged citizens to avoid parking vehicles on roadsides near cattle markets and use only designated parking areas to prevent traffic blockages and inconvenience to other road users.

According to the official, Islamabad Traffic Police personnel would remain present round the clock during Eid days to facilitate citizens and maintain traffic discipline.

Virk appealed to the public to cooperate with traffic police and strictly follow the issued traffic plan to help ensure smooth traffic management across the federal capital.
