The last ten days of Ramadan 2026 have begun in Karachi and across Pakistan. On Tuesday, March 10, 2026—marking the 20th of Ramadan—thousands of Muslims entered Itikaf in mosques right after Asr prayer. They will stay in seclusion until the Shawwal moon sighting signals Eid-ul-Fitr.
Itikaf participants were given special arrangements by mosque committees. Most of the mosques have provided special areas, Sehri, and Iftar meals on a community basis, security, volunteers, common sleeping rooms, and water baths.
Itikaf is based on the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The prayer, recitation of Quran and spiritual reflection are the activities that worshipers are involved with within the mosque. They go out only when necessary, speak less and use less of mobile phones and maintain cleanliness and order.
Karachi sees large participation every year. Popular spots include Masjid-e-Tooba in DHA, New Memon Masjid in the city center, Bait-ul-Mukarram Mosque in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, and Jamia Binoria. Neighborhood mosques also welcome hundreds.
The final Ashra holds deep significance. It includes Laylat-ul-Qadr, a night better than a thousand months. Mosques in Karachi fill with late-night prayers, Quran sessions, and community gatherings during these sacred nights.
Itikaf in Karachi draws crowds as the city embraces the most blessed phase of Ramadan 2026. Worshippers seek forgiveness, mercy, and closeness to Allah in these last days.
