Islamia Hospital Chiniot marks International Nursing Day with ceremony

CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2026) A ceremony was held on Thursday at Islamia Hospital Chiniot to mark International Nursing Day and to celebrate the completion of MCPS by Lady Doctor Dr. Shazia Bakhtiar.

The event was attended by Administrator Muhammad Asif Iqbal, senior doctors including Dr. Najmul Hassan Bukhari, Dr. Shakeel and Dr. Mubashir, along with nursing staff and representatives of the District Press Club, including Dr. Khalid Yasin. Head nurses Mehwish, Rubina Kausar, Shaheen Nazir and Ali Hassan also participated.

Speaking on the occasion, speakers congratulated Dr. Shazia Bakhtiar on her achievement and paid tribute to the nursing staff for their dedicated service.

They said nurses form the backbone of hospital operations and play a frontline role in patient care, while doctors rely on their support to perform duties effectively.

Participants emphasized the need for treating nursing staff with respect and courtesy, noting that the purpose of International Nursing Day is to appreciate their services and encourage them to continue performing their duties with greater dedication. The ceremony concluded with a cake-cutting and a luncheon arranged for the participants.
