Officials reviewed the campaign’s progress, team performance, security arrangements and field challenges during a meeting chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner Headquarters Uzair Ali Khan here Tuesday.

The review meeting was attended by officials from the district administration and the health department. The participants discussed the performance of polio workers, operational issues faced during field activities and the latest campaign statistics.

According to the briefing presented during the meeting, the current anti-polio campaign aims to vaccinate 447,614 children in Islamabad. By the end of the second day, 284,639 children had received polio drops, helping authorities achieve 64 percent of the campaign target.

Officials informed the meeting that polio teams were continuing door-to-door visits in both urban and rural areas. Vaccination teams are also present in schools and public places to ensure that children who may have missed vaccination at home are covered during the drive.

The administration reviewed the attendance and morning assembly of polio workers along with their overall field performance. Officials also discussed issues faced by teams during door-to-door visits and steps being taken to improve campaign coverage in remaining areas.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Headquarters Uzair Ali Khan also reviewed security arrangements for polio teams working in different parts of Islamabad.

Officials were briefed on coordination between the district administration, law enforcement agencies and health authorities to ensure safe movement of vaccination workers during the campaign.

The meeting highlighted the role of field teams in maintaining vaccination coverage and tracking children who were unavailable during previous visits. Authorities directed teams to continue efforts to reach every targeted child before the end of the campaign.

Health officials informed the meeting that special attention is being given to schools, bus stands, markets and other public areas where families frequently visit. mobile teams have also been deployed at busy locations to vaccinate children on the spot.

Speaking during the meeting, Uzair Ali Khan appealed to citizens to cooperate fully with polio workers and allow teams to vaccinate children during house visits. He said public cooperation remains important for achieving complete coverage in the federal capital.

He further urged parents to play their role in protecting children from the disease by ensuring that every child receives polio drops during each campaign round. Officials said repeated vaccination is necessary to strengthen children’s immunity against the virus.

The anti-polio campaign in Islamabad is continuing under the supervision of the district administration and health department, with authorities aiming to achieve the full target in the coming days.
