Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR)says meeting focused on regional security dynamics and efforts to promote peace and stability in the broader region
ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-June 23rd, 2026) Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian met Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, during his official visit to Pakistan, where both sides exchanged views on regional developments, peace initiatives, and bilateral cooperation.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR)said that the meeting focused on regional security dynamics and efforts to promote peace and stability in the broader region.
During the meeting, President Pezeshkian appreciated Pakistan’s constructive and responsible role in promoting dialogue, reducing tensions, and supporting regional stability. He also acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts in encouraging peaceful resolution of disputes and fostering cooperation among regional stakeholders.
The Iranian president said Pakistan’s diplomatic approach and engagement with regional countries had contributed positively to easing tensions and strengthening mutual understanding.

Earlier, President Pezeshkian arrived in Pakistan on a one-day official visit. At Nur Khan Air Base, he was received by President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.
Officials said the visit reflects growing high-level engagement between Islamabad and Tehran, with both countries seeking to expand cooperation in political, economic, and security spheres.
