LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Feb, 2026) Consul General of Iran, Mehran Mohedd Far, on Wednesday met with Punjab Minister for Law Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, where both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, including ways to further strengthen bilateral relations between Pakistan and Iran.
During the meeting, the Iranian consul general appreciated the performance of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and conveyed his best wishes for the Punjab government and its people. He praised the welfare-oriented initiatives of the Punjab government, stating that the chief minister’s vision is playing a key role in the province’s development and progress.
Provincial Law Minister Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan thanked the Iranian consul general and stressed the importance of further deepening the historical, religious, and cultural ties between Pakistan and Iran.
He underscored the need to promote youth cultural exchange programmes, noting that closer interaction between young lawyers and legal experts from both countries could open new avenues of cooperation.
Referring to the historical and cultural links with Khorasan, the Iranian consul general said that friendly relations between the two regions could be further expanded. He also lauded Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision for strengthening Pak-Iran relations and reaffirmed that Iran highly values its close and brotherly ties with Pakistan.
Expressing gratitude to the Pakistani nation, Mehran Mohedd Far said that Iran has always stood by Pakistan during difficult times and emphasized that the bonds of brotherhood between the two countries would continue to grow stronger.
