Iran National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani says they will not negotiate with US

TEHRAN: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-March 2nd, 2026) Iran National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani on Monday firmly rejected claims of ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States, saying that Tehran has no intentions of engaging in talks with Washington.

In a statement posted on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), Larijani stated, "We will not negotiate with the U.S."

His comments followed a report by The Wall Street Journal, which suggested that, following the death of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, Larijani had attempted to revive nuclear talks with the United States through intermediaries in Oman.

Larijani also took aim at US President Donald Trump, accusing him of pushing the middle East into turmoil with his "fantasy concepts." He further alleged that Trump’s policies led to American casualties and that the former president is now fearful of further losses.

The Iranian official condemned Trump's "America First" slogan, claiming it had transformed into "Israel First," with the US soldiers being sacrificed to protect Israeli interests.

Larijani added by stressing that while the US soldiers and their families would bear the cost of these decisions, Iran would continue to uphold its right to self-defense.
