Imran Khan receives fifth intravitreal injection during medical visit to PIMS, confirms PTI

RAWALPINDI: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-June 15^th, 2026) Former prime minister Imran Khan was administered the fifth dose of an intravitreal injection during a medical procedure conducted after he was shifted from Adiala Jail to hospital, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) said on Monday.

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan confirmed that the former prime minister was taken from Adiala Jail to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for treatment and was returned to the jail after completion of the procedure.

He said Imran Khan was brought to PIMS during the night for the injection and also underwent a follow-up medical examination before being shifted back to custody.

Barrister Gohar further stated that he was informed in the morning that a follow-up check-up of the PTI founder had also been carried out at the hospital.

He reiterated PTI’s demand that Imran Khan should be transferred to Shifa International Hospital for further treatment instead of PIMS and urged authorities to allow his family immediate access for visitation.

No official statement from prison authorities was available regarding the medical procedure or the former prime minister’s current health condition at the time of reporting.
