Improved road infrastructure to boost commercial activities: DC

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Feb, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Sargodha Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry on Friday said that improved road infrastructure will facilitate smoother mobility, boost commercial activities, and provide tangible relief to the public.

He said this during his visit to various project sites to review preparations and ongoing arrangements. Member of the Provincial Assembly Safdar Sahi accompanied the DC Sargodha.

During the visit, the DC directed the concerned departments to ensure transparency in execution, strict adherence to timelines, and the use of high-quality construction materials.

Officials briefed the Deputy Commissioner that a total of 61 roads, covering a combined length of 162 kilometers, are being constructed or rehabilitated at an estimated cost of Rs.

3.878 billion. Tenders for all projects have been issued, marking the formal commencement of development work across the district.

It was also informed that work orders for all schemes are being issued, full funding has been secured, and completion is targeted by June this year.

The projects aim to provide safer and more efficient transportation facilities to residents.

The deputy commissioner stated that all projects are being regularly monitored to ensure timely completion in accordance with prescribed quality standards.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Fahad Mahmood, Deputy Director Development Mahtab Yaseen, Executive Engineer Highways Malik Gulfam Awan, and other relevant officers were also present during the visit.
