WAH CANTT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Mar, 2026) A citizen returning from abroad was brazenly robbed of thousands of Euros by two unidentified men posing as officials on the Taxila Bypass on Friday, police said. The victim, Imran Khan, who had recently arrived in Pakistan from Italy, was stopped near a Suzuki showroom by suspects traveling in a Honda car and carrying a wireless set, which they allegedly used to impersonate law-enforcement personnel.

According to police sources, the suspects introduced themselves as officials and subsequently conducted a search of the victim. During the inspection, however, the imposters swiftly seized a bag containing 5,000 euros along with important documents. Shortly afterward, the suspects fled the scene and headed towards Peshawar, leaving the victim stunned by the sudden robbery.

Meanwhile, local authorities promptly registered a case at Taxila Police Station and immediately initiated an investigation into the incident. Police officials said preliminary inquiries are underway, while efforts are being made to identify the suspects and determine the vehicle used in the crime.

Furthermore, police have launched a coordinated search operation to track down the culprits and recover the stolen cash and documents. Officials strongly urged citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious individuals posing as officials, particularly on busy highways and bypass routes, to help prevent such deceptive criminal activities in the future.
