IMPC organizes farewell ceremony to honour Prof Tahir Mahmood & Prof Abdul Rauf on their retirement

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Feb, 2026) Islamabad Model Postgraduate College (IMPC) H-8/2, on Wednesday, organized a farewell ceremony in honor of Prof Tahir Mahmood, Head of the Department of Economics, and Prof Abdul Rauf, Head of the Department of Mathematics, on the eve of their retirement.

The event held on campus in Islamabad was attended by the faculty members.

Particularly, Prof Tahir Mahmood served the former FG colleges of Islamabad with distinction in various capacities. He also remained an office bearer and later President of Federal Government College Teachers Association. During his tenure, teachers secured several service-related benefits, most notably the introduction of the Higher Time Scale, a promotion formula that ensured faster career progression for ex-FG colleges and other federal teaching cadres.

While speaking, faculty members including professors praised their services and lauded their unwavering dedication to academic excellence and institutional development. They acknowledged their significant contributions in strengthening the learning environment and inspiring both students and colleagues through their commitment and professionalism.

They also extended their best wishes for their retirement life.
