Imambargahs to be provided proper cleanliness and lighting arrangements, open manholes along procession: Mayor

LARKANA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jun, 2026) Mayor of Municipal Corporation Larkana, Advocate Anwar Ali Luhur, said that during Muharram-ul-Haram, arrangements for cleanliness, lighting, water sprinkling on procession routes, and emergency preparedness will be ensured across Larkana city.

Fire brigade vehicles would also remain on alert to respond promptly to any emergency situation. He expressed these views while addressing a meeting held Thrusday at the Municipal Corporation Office regarding arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram.

On this occasion, he directed officials of Sindh Solid Waste Management to ensure that all sanitation staff of the Municipal Corporation and Town Chairmen make complete arrangements in their respective areas so that no complaints arise during these days.

He said all Imambargahs in Larkana city should be provided with proper cleanliness and lighting arrangements, and open manholes along procession routes should be covered. Sindh Solid Waste Management staff would remain present to maintain sanitation services, while Rescue 1122 teams would also remain deployed to deal with any possible emergency.

He added that the Health Department would deploy doctors and medical staff in different areas of the city, especially along procession routes, to provide immediate medical assistance if required. Emergency wards, trauma centers, and other institutions would also remain staffed with doctors and relevant personnel.

During the meeting, Rangers officials discussing law and order stated that meetings with all stakeholders had already been held and their teams would remain deployed throughout the city during these days. Full cooperation would be provided in case of any complaint, and a control room would also be established to monitor the situation.

On this occasion, the representative of the Medical Superintendent of CMC Larkana said that wherever camps were established, doctors, medical staff, and medicines would be available. Rescue 1122 would also provide ambulances and other facilities. He further stated that all institutions would remain in coordination to ensure necessary services and maintain the best possible arrangements during Muharram-ul-Haram. Keeping in view the intense heat, cold drinking water stalls would also be established on various routes across the city.

Assistant Commissioner Raja Khan Qureshi stated during the meeting that it was hoped all relevant institutions would ensure excellent arrangements. He also announced that solar lights would be installed in all graveyards of Larkana city and drainage cleaning near Sapna Hotel would be carried out to maintain cleanliness in the city.On this occasion, religious scholars belonging to all schools of thought assured full cooperation for maintaining peace and order in the city and also presented their suggestions. All relevant officers attended the meeting.
