PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Jun, 2026) The Customs Department carried out a major operation in Nowshera district, destroying illegal and harmful goods worth approximately Rs440 million.
According to officials on Tuesday, the confiscated items included non-duty-paid cigarettes, pan products, Chinese salt, gutka and flammable materials. The goods had been seized during operations conducted in different areas of the district.
The destruction of the seized goods was carried out with the participation of Nowshera Customs, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), district administration and local police.

Senior Customs officials stated that there will be no compromise on the sale and distribution of non-duty-paid and hazardous products. They emphasized that similar enforcement actions will continue in the future to curb smuggling and the circulation of harmful goods.
Officials added that strict measures are being taken to safeguard consumers and ensure compliance with customs and public safety regulations.
