IJC seeks FIA response regarding travel ban on Yar Muhammad Rind

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jul, 2026) The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday directed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to submit its reply in a petition filed by former federal minister Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind challenging the travel restrictions imposed on him.

Justice Inaam Ameen Minhas heard the petition, during which Barrister Zafarullah appeared on behalf of the petitioner.

The Assistant Attorney General informed the court that Rind's name had been placed on the travel restriction list on the recommendation of police in connection with a criminal case.

Justice Minhas asked the government to specify the nature of the case, where it had been registered and when it was lodged.

FIA officials told the court that the case had been registered in Quetta and that the petitioner's name was added to the list on the recommendation of the DIG Legal, Quetta.

Barrister Zafarullah submitted that the police had subsequently issued a written communication recommending the removal of his client's name from the travel restriction list.

The court questioned why the name had not been removed if such a letter had already been issued.

In response, FIA officials said they would verify whether the police communication had been received.

Justice Minhas directed the FIA to verify the matter and submit its reply before the court.

The hearing was adjourned until next date.
