IHC to hear sentence suspension pleas of PTI founder, Bushra Bibi on March 11

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Feb, 2026) The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday would take up the petitions of PTI founder and Bushra Bibi on March 11, seeking suspension of sentences in 190 million Pounds reference.

The court accepted the miscellaneous applications for early hearing of the main appeals of former prime minister and his wife.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Azam Khan heard the miscellaneous petitions and approved for early hearing of the cases for suspension of sentences in 190 million pounds reference.

During the hearing, lawyers Barrister Salman Safdar, Salman Akram Raja, Khalid Yousuf Chaudhry, Sardar Masroof Khan and others appeared in the court, while the three sisters of the founder of PTI, Falak Naz Chitrali, Shandana Gulzar and others were also present in the courtroom.

Barrister Salman Safdar, while giving arguments, said that the founder of PTI was brought out of jail on medical grounds and taken to the hospital for treatment. They are not requesting hearing on appeals.

He said that the applications for suspension of sentence has been pending for a year, various applications have been filed five times.

The Chief Justice said that the early hearing applications filed previously have become ineffective.

The court ordered to schedule the suspension of sentence applications of PTI founder and Bushra Bibi for March 11.
