IHC seeks report from jail in case regarding PTI founder's shifting to hospital

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Mar, 2026) The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday sought a report from the Adiala Jail Superintendent on how much sentence the founder of PTI has served in the Tosha Khana criminal case.

A division bench of the Islamabad High Court comprising Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir and Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro has issued a written order for hearing on the request to shift the founder of PTI to Shifa International Hospital for treatment in the Tosha Khana criminal case.

Three objections to the petition of the founder of PTI were removed, while two objections were upheld and a notice has been issued to the Additional Attorney General and Advocate General.

The written order has said that the Registrar Office should number the miscellaneous application and schedule it with the main appeal and prepare the paper book of appeals before the next hearing on March 10.

On the other hand, the sister of the founder of PTI, Uzma Khan, has approached the Islamabad High Court to shift the founder to the hospital for treatment. The court has been requested to provide access to the private physicians during the medical examination and treatment of the founder of PTI.

The petition filed in the Islamabad High Court has said that immediate and timely information regarding the health of the founder of PTI should be provided. The court has been requested to arrange for the medical examination of the founder of PTI by doctors of his choice and Dr. Khurram Mirza, Dr. Asim Yousaf, Dr. Faisal Sultan and Dr. Samina Niazi should be included in the medical examination.

The PTI founder should undergo blood tests and be transferred to Shifa International Hospital for treatment. Doctors, family members and lawyers should be provided with continuous access to the PTI founder during his detention and treatment.

The petition further requests that the PTI founder's complete medical reports, including blood tests, eye tests and diagnostic reports for the last three months, be provided.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Humayun Dilawar had sentenced him to three years in prison and a fine of Rs 100,000 on August 5, 2023.
