IHC seeks FIA report in Salman Akram Raja Social Media Case

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday directed federal police to present the FIA report and arguments in a case filed by PTI leader Salman Akram Raja challenging the call-up notice issued by a joint investigation team (JIT) over alleged misuse of social media

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Jun, 2026) The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday directed Federal police to present the FIA report and arguments in a case filed by PTI leader Salman Akram Raja challenging the call-up notice issued by a joint investigation team (JIT) over alleged misuse of social media.

Justice Inaam Ameen Minhas heard the petition filed by Salman Akram Raja. Director Law Tahir Kazim appeared on behalf of the federal police and submitted that the FIA has complained that Salman Akram Raja misuses social media.

Justice Inaam Ameen Minhas observed that the FIA report states there is no case against him. The Director Law responded that the matter is currently at the inquiry stage and is pending before the FIA.

The court directed the Director Law to review the reports before proceeding further and adjourned the case.

A JIT comprising FIA and police officials was constituted to inquire into Salman Akram Raja's social media posts. The JIT had issued a call-up notice to him.
