ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2026) The Islamabad High Court on Thursday reserved its judgment on a petition seeking permission for family meetings, access to a personal physician, and provision of necessary items for Bushra Bibi, the spouse of the PTI founder.

A single bench of Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir heard the petition filed by Mubashra Maneka, the daughter of Bushra Bibi. Advocate General Islamabad Naveed Hayat Malik and petitioner counsel Salman Akram Raja appeared before the court.

During the proceedings, Salman Akram Raja argued that it is acknowledged that Bushra Bibi is unwell and has undergone surgery.

Advocate General Naveed Hayat Malik raised an objection to the maintainability of the petition, arguing that the jail superintendent has discretionary authority to decide which facilities to provide to a prisoner.

He stated that against the superintendent order, the forum of the Inspector General of Prisons is available.

The Advocate General argued that after meetings, the family members go out and share details with Maryam Wato, who then tweets, spreading fear and panic across the country.

He said the country is going through a delicate situation and such circumstances cannot be created. He also stated that Salman Akram Raja had submitted an affidavit that he would not speak outside after jail meetings.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the court reserved its verdict.
