ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Mar, 2026) The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday rejected a request to immediately stay the M-tags process on motorcycles and sought response from respondents within seven days.
Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfaraz Dogar heard a petition against M-tags on motorcycles. During the hearing, Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar said that M-tags are being installed so that the motor vehicle can be identified.
Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar told the petitioner's lawyer that this is being done for you, it is also being done so that you can be registered so that it can be identified. This is a matter of government policy.
The lawyer said that the administrative order must be within the legal mechanism, people are facing a lot of trouble, it is requested that a stay order be issued. The court rejected the request for an immediate stay order and ordered the authorities to submit a response within 7 days.
