IGP takes notice of Rawalpindi father-son killing, seeks report

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Jul, 2026) Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Abdul Karim on Sunday took notice of the killing of a father and son in a firing incident in Khengar Khurd village of Union Council Gujar Khan, Rawalpindi, and sought a report from the Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi.

The IGP directed the City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi to ensure the immediate arrest of the suspects involved in the incident and ordered that all available resources be utilised to apprehend the accused at the earliest.

According to the CPO Rawalpindi, forensic teams reached the crime scene and collected evidence, while special police teams have been constituted to trace and arrest the suspects. He expressed confidence that the accused would be arrested soon.

The victims were identified as Arshad Bhatti and his son Musaddiq Bhatti, who lost their lives in the firing incident.
