IGP takes notice of Bhakkar bloody clash

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Apr, 2026) Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Abdul Kareem has taken notice of a firing incident in Basti Chandia area of Bhakkar, where eight people were killed and six others injured in a clash between two groups over a land dispute, and sought a report from the RPO Sargodha.

The IGP directed the district police officer (DPO) Bhakkar to immediately arrest the accused and bring them to justice.

According to a spokesperson for Punjab Police, senior police officers and forensic teams reached the scene and collected evidence, while special teams were constituted for the arrest of the accused.

The spokesperson added that the deceased and the accused were relatives and the incident occurred due to a land dispute.
