IGP Rizvi reviews Safe City expansion, orders tech-driven policing reforms

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Apr, 2026) Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi chaired an important meeting to review Safe City expansion, technology-based policing and operational performance in the Federal capital.

An official told APP on Monday that DG Safe City/DIG Traffic Muhammad Haroon Joiya, DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, SSP Investigation Muhammad Usman Tariq Butt, SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza and other senior officers attended the meeting.

IGP Rizvi reviewed progress on the Safe City expansion project, use of modern technology in policing and development of mobile applications for public facilitation.

The official said the performance of the Operations Division and ongoing actions against criminal elements were also discussed in detail.

Rizvi issued directions to further improve the patrolling system and enhance field response.

IGP emphasized adoption of modern investigative practices to ensure transparent and effective investigations in line with contemporary requirements.
