LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Apr, 2026) Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Abdul Kareem on Wednesday met police employees and their family members at the Central Police Office (CPO) and issued on-the-spot directions for the resolution of their problems.
During the meeting, the IGP Punjab listened to individual complaints and instructed the concerned officers to ensure immediate relief. The session was part of ongoing efforts to address administrative, welfare and service-related issues of police personnel.
According to spokesperson, on a request regarding recruitment of the son of deceased ASI Muhammad Hanif, directions were issued to the Additional IG Punjab to place the matter under consideration. On the transfer request of DSP Saleem Akbar Khan, the DIG Headquarters was directed to provide relief. Similarly, on the request for reappointment on contract of former psychologist Miss Aqsa Safdar, the Additional IG Training was instructed to examine the case.
In another case, directions were issued to the Additional IG Welfare and Finance regarding financial assistance for the son of deceased Constable Iftikhar Ahmad. The DIG Establishment-I was directed to take necessary action on the seniority matter of Sub-Inspector Syed Zafar Hussain.
Meanwhile, on the request for recruitment of the son of Sub-Inspector Muhammad Azam, the Additional IG Punjab was asked to consider the matter. Likewise, on the transfer request of sanitary worker Rameez Masih, the DIG SPU was directed to take appropriate action. On the issue of seniority of Sub-Inspector Yasir Iqbal, the Additional IG Punjab was instructed to provide relief, while directions were also issued to consider the promotion request of Constable Shan Haider.
The IGP also passed orders on various other applications pertaining to discipline, administration, promotion and welfare, reaffirming his commitment to facilitating police employees and ensuring prompt redressal of their concerns.
