GILGIT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Jul, 2026) Inspector General of Police (IGP) Gilgit-Baltistan Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan (PSP) chaired a Command Conference at the Central Police Office in Gilgit, attended by Regional Police Officers, District Police Officers, heads of various police units and other senior police officials.
The conference reviewed the implementation of previous decisions, the overall law and order situation, security arrangements, protection of Chinese nationals, foreign citizens and VIPs, transfers and promotions, professional training, Safe City projects, improvement of police infrastructure and other key administrative matters.
Participants also reviewed the crime situation across all districts.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The IGP directed officers to ensure the early submission of challans in pending cases to the courts, intensify efforts to curb narcotics, and expedite the arrest of proclaimed offenders.
Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan appreciated the performance of officers who had demonstrated outstanding professional commitment and issued further directives aimed at improving policing standards, strengthening public safety and enhancing the overall efficiency of the Gilgit-Baltistan Police.
According to the Gilgit-Baltistan Police spokesperson, the conference reaffirmed the force's commitment to maintaining law and order, strengthening security arrangements and ensuring effective policing across the region.
