ICT Police detain 30 suspects in capital-wide search operations

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Apr, 2026) Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police conducted joint grand combing operations across multiple areas of the Federal capital, detaining 30 suspicious individuals along with one vehicle and 33 motorcycles for further verification.

An official told APP on Wednesday that the operations were carried out in the jurisdictions of Golra, Sihala, Secretariat, Kirpa, Sumbal, Industrial Area, Ramna and Khanna police stations.

He said the operations were conducted under the supervision of zonal SPs.

The official said lady police officials also participated in the operations to ensure effective checking.

During the operations, a total of 546 individuals and 248 households were checked.

He said 29 hotels were also inspected during the search.

The official said 326 motorcycles and 123 vehicles were examined during the drive.

He said the suspects, vehicle and motorcycles were shifted to relevant police stations for further verification.

The official said special checking points had been established at entry and exit routes of the city to ensure effective monitoring.

All patrolling units and special squads were actively performing duties across the city, he added.

Senior officers remained present in the field, reviewing security arrangements and ensuring implementation of measures.

The official urged citizens to cooperate with police during checking and report any suspicious activity immediately.
