ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Jul, 2026) The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration reviewed dengue prevention measures and surveillance data during a meeting chaired by the Deputy Commissioner, focusing on case trends in five major cities and monitoring results collected between June 19 and July 2.
The meeting brought together senior officials from the district administration and the health department to assess the dengue situation in the Federal capital and evaluate ongoing prevention efforts. Authorities conducted a detailed review of reported dengue cases and examined surveillance findings aimed at limiting the spread of the disease.
Officials presented a comparative analysis of dengue cases reported in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, and Multan. The review was intended to identify trends and assess the effectiveness of control measures being implemented in different urban centres.
The meeting was also briefed on the outdoor positive larvae map covering the period from June 19 to July 2. Officials discussed areas where mosquito larvae had been detected and reviewed actions taken to eliminate breeding sites.
Data from indoor vector surveillance conducted during the past 15 days was also presented.

He also instructed authorities to take strict action against factors contributing to the spread of dengue, including conditions that create breeding grounds for mosquitoes. Officials were directed to maintain regular monitoring and enforcement measures.
The administration appealed to citizens to cooperate with health authorities and follow dengue prevention SOPs. Residents were urged to eliminate stagnant water, keep their surroundings clean, and support efforts aimed at controlling the disease and reducing the risk of further cases in the federal capital.
