ICT admin opens all transport routes, public parks; 1 bus terminal remains closed

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Apr, 2026) The district administration has allowed all types of public and goods transport to enter the city and reopened parks and hiking trails, while 1 bus terminal at Faizabad will stay closed until further orders.

According to a notification, all kinds of public transport and goods transport have now been allowed to enter the city without restriction. This decision comes as part of the steps to restore routine movement for residents and transport operators.

Officials said that transport services can now operate across Islamabad. This includes buses, vans, and goods carriers that had faced limits earlier. The administration stated that the decision will help improve mobility and support daily travel for citizens.

Along with transport operations, the administration has also reopened bus stands in different parts of the city. All bus terminals have been made functional, except for the Faizabad bus terminal.

Authorities confirmed that the Faizabad terminal will remain closed until further orders. No timeline has been given for its reopening.

Officials added that passengers can use other bus stands for travel in and out of the city. Transport operators have been advised to follow standard procedures while resuming services.

In a separate announcement, the district administration shared updates for residents regarding public spaces. Authorities said that hiking trails in Islamabad have been reopened for the public.

In addition to hiking trails, the administration has also reopened public parks across the city. This includes well-known spots such as Daman-e-Koh and Lake View Park. Officials confirmed that all parks are now accessible to the public.

The district administration stated that these decisions have been taken to ease daily life in the capital. Transport services, parks, and trails are now available, with only one major transport point still closed.
