Hyderabad police finalizes comprehensive security plan for anti-polio campaign

HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2026) Hyderabad Police on Monday finalized a foolproof security plan for the anti-polio campaign scheduled to continue from May 18 to May 24.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Hyderabad said that protecting children from the crippling disease of polio was a national responsibility and all possible security measures were being ensured in this regard.

According to the police spokesperson, a total of 1,523 police personnel have been deployed under the security plan to perform duties alongside transit, fixed and mobile polio teams.

Lady police personnel have also been assigned to provide complete security to the vaccination teams.

Additional police force has been deployed in sensitive areas, while special transit security arrangements are being provided to ensure the safe movement of polio teams. Checking at important locations has also been further tightened.

Police authorities said that the Quick Response Force (QRF) had been kept on high alert to deal with any emergency situation, while all operations were being continuously monitored through the central control room.
