Human trafficking network busted, five held

MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd May, 2026) The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration Wing at Multan International Airport claimed to have busted an international human trafficking network, arresting five suspected agents and facilitators during a major operation at the airport.

According to FIA officials, two women passengers were stopped and offloaded after immigration authorities found serious contradictions in their travel documents and statements during scrutiny.

During preliminary questioning, the women allegedly failed to provide satisfactory details regarding their sponsors and family connections in Oman. Investigators later discovered that neither woman had a husband nor any close relative residing there, raising suspicions of human trafficking.

Following leads provided by the passengers, FIA teams conducted swift action within the airport premises and arrested five suspected traffickers and facilitators believed to be part of the organized network.

The arrested suspects were shifted to the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Multan for further investigation, while raids are continuing to apprehend additional members of the gang.

Director FIA Multan Zone Atta ur Rehman commended the immigration team for the successful operation and reiterated the agency’s commitment to eliminating human trafficking networks.
