ARTICLE AD BOX
The Islamabad Capital Territory administration enforces M-Tag for bikes on all motorcycles now. The final date to install M-Tag is February 28, 2026. Starting March 1, 2026, traffic police stop any motorcycle without an M-Tag. They impound it and move it to a police station. You pay a fine plus install the tag to retrieve your bike.
No exemptions exist. This applies to regular bikes, heavy motorcycles, and ride-hailing ones like Bykea or InDrive.
M-Tag for Bike Requirements
You need these documents to get M-Tag for bike:
- Original CNIC of the owner.
- Motorcycle registration book or card.
- The bike itself present for tag installation.
M-Tag For Bike Fee
The process takes minutes. The fee costs Rs. 250. Staff affix the electronic sticker on the front—usually the speedometer or a flat visible surface for scanners.
M Tag for Bike Locations
Authorities set up 13 registration points across Islamabad. Some face long queues this week due to the rush. Key spots include:
- Toll plazas like 26 Number Chungi and 17 Meel with 24-hour counters.
- Urban locations cover Sector I-8, F-9 Park, Kachnar Park, and Gulberg.
Most centers run from 10:00 AM to midnight. They stay open on weekends and holidays until the deadline.
Beat crowds today. Avoid peak hours at Gulberg or I-9. Try 24-hour toll plaza counters late night or early morning. Expect 60–90 minute waits during busy times.
If you ride in Islamabad, get your M-Tag for bike installed before February 28 ends. It keeps you on the road without trouble from March 1.
