Hotel worker dies of electric shock

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) A young hotel worker died after receiving an electric shock while at work near Adda Band Bosan in Multan on Monday.

Rescuers said, the 32 years old was switching on a fan at the hotel when he suffered the electric shock that proved fatal.

Soon after receiving the call to the emergency control room, that the injured was being shifted to a private clinic, rescue ambulance rushed to the site and intercepted them on the way. The rescue team immediately initiated cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) but their attempts went in vain and failed to revive him.

The rescuers responded within 16 minutes, with officials citing the longer travel distance as the reason for the response time.

Rescue staff said that people accompanying the victim identified him as Muhammad Rizwan, son of Ghulam Shabbir.

His body was later shifted to Nishtar Hospital for further legal formalities.

Rescuers have appealed to people to exercise caution while using electrical appliances, avoid faulty wiring and exposed wires, and adopt proper safety measures to prevent such tragic incidents.
