ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st May, 2026) Mainly hot and dry weather is expected across most parts of the country on Friday, with very hot conditions forecast for southern regions, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
Light rain-wind and thunderstorm may occur at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and surrounding areas.
In Islamabad and surroundings, hot and dry weather is expected. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's southern districts will largely remain hot and dry, however, rain-wind and thunderstorm may occur at isolated places in Abbottabad, Mansehra, Battagram, Shangla, Kohistan, Dir, Malakand, Kurram and surrounding areas.
Punjab will see mainly hot and dry conditions across most districts, while southern districts are likely to experience very hot weather.
Murree and Galliyat are expected to remain partly cloudy and dry. Sindh will face very hot and dry weather in most districts, with dust-raising and strong winds expected in central and southern districts during the afternoon hours.
Balochistan will remain hot and dry in most districts, while southern districts are likely to experience intense heat.
Partly cloudy weather with isolated rain-wind and thunderstorm is expected in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
In the past 24 hours, rain-wind and thunderstorm occurred at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and upper Punjab, while weather remained hot and dry in other parts of the country.
The rainfall recorded (mm) during the period was Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Cherat 22, Kakul 10, Malam Jabba 08, Dir 06, Pattan 05; Kashmir: Muzaffarabad (Airport 08, City 04), Garhi Dupatta 08, Rawalakot 06, Bunji 05; Gilgit-Baltistan: Astore 03, Skardu 02; Punjab: Murree 01.
The highest maximum temperature of 46C was recorded today at Mohenjo-Daro, Dadu, Sibbi and Sukkur.
The minimum and maximum temperatures recorded were Islamabad 19/35, Lahore 22/37, Karachi 27/36, Peshawar 19/35, Quetta 14/32, Gilgit 15/22, Muzaffarabad 14/28, Skardu 12/19, Murree 09/21, Faisalabad 23/37, Multan 24/39, Srinagar 10/20, Jammu 22/39, Leh 04/13, Pulwama 11/20, Anantnag 10/20, Shopian 10/21, and Baramulla 11/20.
