HMC rejects allegations of irregularities in appointments

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Apr, 2026) Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC) has rejected the impression of irregularities in recent appointments circulating in the media and on social media, stating that these were made strictly in accordance with the Medical Teaching Institutions (MTI) Act 2015 and its prescribed rules and regulations.

According to a statement issued here, the entire appointment process was conducted under the supervision of the board of Governors (BoG) through a legally defined procedure, and no deviation from established rules occurred at any stage.

The statement clarified that recent administrative decisions, including the appointment of the Medical Director, fall within the legal authority of the BoG under the MTI framework.

It added that such decisions are part of institutional governance and should not be misconstrued as irregularities.

HMC emphasized that no position was filled outside the legal framework and all selections were completed in line with MTI procedures. It further stated that the BoG is fully empowered under the law to make such decisions.

Reaffirming its commitment to merit, transparency, and professional standards, HMC said it remains focused on ensuring the provision of quality healthcare services. The statement termed the allegations circulating in certain sections of the media and social media as baseless.
