ATTOCK, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Mar, 2026) In a powerful gesture of unity and restraint, the Hindu community of Attock Cantt on Wednesday celebrated Holi at the Valmiki Mandir with remarkable simplicity and quiet dignity. Although the festival is traditionally associated with vibrant colors and jubilant gatherings, this year the community chose to observe the occasion in a modest and respectful manner.
Pandit Sarwan Kumar, after extensive consultation with community members, unanimously resolved that the celebrations would be conducted in a simple yet spiritually fulfilling way.
Moreover, he emphasized in a video message to the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) that while Holi is ordinarily observed enthusiastically and exuberantly, the community deliberately opted for restraint this time.
Consequently, religious rituals were performed peacefully and reverently, highlighting both devotion and discipline.
Furthermore, Pandit Sarwan Kumar stated that alongside fulfilling their sacred obligations, the safety and prosperity of Pakistan remain equally important to them. He proudly noted that people of all faiths in the country are allowed to celebrate their religious festivals freely and safely.
Meanwhile, prominent community member Roop Lal described the initiative as a constructive and admirable example of national cohesion.
Similarly, citizens of Attock widely appreciated the thoughtful move, calling it a practical demonstration of patriotism, mutual respect, and collective wisdom.
