HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd May, 2026) Some residents of a village surrounding Memon community's housing scheme allegedly manhandled a team of Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) on Thursday.
A Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) of the company here on Friday wrote a letter to Qasimabad police station to register FIR on 10 persons including 3 with Names for the incident.
According to the SDO, during an anti theft operation in Memon colony around 10 persons after climbing up the colony's boundary wall intercepted a team of HESCO which was cutting illegal connections from a pole mounted transformer.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The SDO stated that the accused persons came from an unplanned settlement which was located next to Memon and the colony and whose residents were stealing electricity from the colony's PMT.
"The accused persons threatened the staff with dire consequences," the SDO added, alleging that one of them, Nisar Lutfullah, was carrying a pistol.
The official said if such elements would go unpunished the teams of HESCO would find it hard to take action against power theft.
