Heavy rain disrupts traffic, flash floods enter homes in Abbottabad

ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Mar, 2026) Torrential rain across Abbottabad on Wednesday caused waterlogging on major roads, disrupting traffic in areas including Mandiyaan Missile Chowk, Jinnahabad, and other adjoining localities.

The downpour also led to flash flooding in several low-lying areas of the city.

Water entered homes in neighborhoods such as Sir Syed Colony, Bilal Town, and Link Road, affecting residents and creating additional hardships.

Personnel of the Traffic Police Abbottabad were deployed immediately to manage traffic, divert vehicles to alternate routes, and maintain smooth flow on flooded streets.

Authorities urged the public to exercise caution while driving during the rain and to cooperate with traffic management teams.

Residents welcomed the rainfall for ending the dry spell but expressed concern over damage caused by water entering homes in vulnerable areas.
